PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Perry County woman charged with two others in a federal carjacking case has entered a guilty plea.
Brandi Hurt, 28, of Bonnyman, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Pikeville to aiding and abetting carjacking last week.
In court, she admitted to being with Christopher Cole, 33, of Littcarr, when the incident occurred last August. Hurt confessed that she and Cole were riding in a car with two other people, when Cole pulled a gun, forced the driver out, and took the car. When police later found them, she told officers that the driver had left them with the car voluntarily.
Hurt now faces up to 15 years in prison when she is sentenced in November.
Cole and Angela Vanover, 49, of Hazard, remain charged in the case. They are scheduled to go on trial in October, but a final date has not yet been set.
