MARTIN, Ky. — A custodian at a Floyd County elementary school has been placed on leave, after being arrested on drug charges last week.
Floyd County Schools reported the arrest last week, but provided no details. At the time, they said they had placed the custodian on leave after drugs were found at the school.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office investigated and placed Josh Johnson, 39, of Grethel, under arrest. He is charged with third-degree drug trafficking, trafficking within 1,000 feet of a school and first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor involving an illegal controlled substance.
Johnson was arraigned on the charges Monday, where he pleaded not guilty. Floyd District Judge Tyler Green set a $50,000 cash bond in the case. In the event Johnson makes bond, the judge also ordered him to have no contact with minor children and to stay off of any school property.
He will be back in court for a preliminary hearing next week.
