PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Victims in the federal fraud case against a Pike County businessman are receiving letters this week, informing them of their right to seek restitution.
According to court records, the letters were scheduled to go out this week, informing former clients of 36-year-old Eugene Sisco III’s drug treatment clinics that they could seek restitution from him, as well as testify against him at his upcoming sentencing.
Sisco was convicted of health care fraud and wire fraud last month, following a six-day trial. The jury found he ordered unnecessary urine tests for his clients and forced Medicaid patients to pay cash for services that were also covered by Medicaid.
The government is already seeking to have Sisco forfeit $3.2 million. If the judge approves both forfeiture and restitution, that could raise his financial penalty substantially.
