Floyd man charged with firing gun into ex-wife’s home

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Floyd County man is in jail, after allegedly firing a gun at his ex-wife’s home.

Police say Joshua Keith Hoover, 36, of Garrett, went to his ex-wife’s home in Dixie apartments, fired his gun through the front door several times, then fled the scene. Later, they say he went to his former mother-in-law’s home and attempted to force his way inside. No one was injured in either incident.

Police caught up to Hoover as they say he attempted to flee again.

Hoover is now charged with wanton endangerment, violation of a protective order, criminal mischief and felon in possession of a firearm.

He is being held in the Floyd County Detention Center under a $25,000 bond.
