Police pulled over a car on U.S. 23 Saturday night and discovered the driver to have a warrant, so they asked the passenger if he had a license and could drive the car. The passenger said he had a license, but didn’t have it with him.

When asked for identifying information, the man gave police two different Social Security numbers and said his name was Daniel Smith. When the officer asked the driver who the passenger was, the man jumped over the guardrail and began running toward the river.

Once he slipped and fell, the officer used his taser on him. The man continued to resist attempts to arrest him, so a taser was used a second, prompting him to say, “I’m done now.”

Police later identified the man as Bill Daniel Combs, 39, of Pikeville, who was wanted after being indicted on federal charges of producing and possessing child porn. After searching him, police also found 27.5 suboxone films.

He has now been charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing police and other charges.
