PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — In other news, a man who was arrested last month in connection with the search for a wanted suspect has been cleared of wrongdoing.
Prestonsburg Police had been searching for Kenneth Kyle Greer, 34, of Prestonsburg, after he got away after allegedly leading police on a chase reaching speeds of up to 120 mph. Four days later, he was arrested on his way to the Floyd County Courthouse to turn himself in.
The man who was driving him there, Jorden Hall, 34, of Salyersville, was also arrested and charged with fleeing police and hindering prosecution.
But last week, a Floyd County grand jury declined to indict Hall on those charges. A letter from his attorney says Hall never intended to flee police or interfere with Greer’s arrest. He said he was simply driving him to the courthouse so he could turn himself in.
The letter says police attempted to pull him over, but he was already near the courthouse, so he continued there instead of pulling over immediately.
The grand jury apparently accepted Hall’s account of events, returning a “no true bill” in his case, meaning they did not find any evidence to prosecute him and dismissed the case.
A copy of the letter is reprinted below.
