ELKHORN CITY, Ky. — Twenty residents of the WestCare’s Hal Rogers Recovery Center at Ashcamp, along with six staff members, took part in a litter cleanup Monday, as part of the Adopt-a-Highway program.
The crew worked to clean the roadsides along a four-mile stretch of Route 197 at Elkhorn City. Trash was bagged and left for Pike County Solid Waste to collect.
“We take pride in everything that we do,” Center Director Clayton Swindall said. “We are proud to assist the community in beautification.”
Residents and staff members volunteer for the effort every year.
