IVEL, Ky. — A Floyd County man has been arrested after being accused of holding his girlfriend against her will and assaulting her.

Police were called to a home on Carlisle Hollow Road at Ivel Sunday night over a report of abuse between the couple. When they arrived, they found no one at home, but they later tracked down the girlfriend.

She told police that her boyfriend, identified as Tyler Dewayne Hamilton, 27, had taken her phone and refused to let her leave their home. She also alleged that he assaulted her throughout the day and pointed a shotgun in her face, saying he would kill her if she tried to leave.

Hamilton was found at another residence on Route 1426. He was arrested and charged with a felony count of wanton endangerment, along with misdemeanor counts of assault and unlawful imprisonment.
