PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Funeral arrangements have been announced for a Prestonsburg city councilman who died this week.

Mike Lafferty, 55, died on Monday.

In addition to his work as a city councilman, he was also noted for the mark he made on emergency medicine in Floyd County, operating Trans-Star Ambulance Service and later Emergent Care. He also was the CEO of Pro Automotive Care and Mike’s Towing.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 28, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Gethsemane Gardens, in Prestonsburg.
