
WEST LIBERTY, Ky. — An investigation into illegal drug activity inside an Eastern Kentucky prison has resulted in the arrest of five people.
Kentucky State Police and the Gateway Area Drug Task Force responded to a request to investigate from the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty. That investigation resulted in indictments being returned against two former correctional officers, two inmates, and the mother of one of those inmates.
Those arrested include:
- Former guard Dwayne Skaggs, 34, of Auxier
- Former guard William Caudill, 32, of Isonville
- Inmate Challis Davis, 45, of Flat Lick
- Inmate Shane Wilder, 42, of Calvin
- Donnie Wilder, 70, of Calvin
All five are charged with trafficking in meth and Suboxone, promoting contraband and engaging in organized crime. Skaggs and Caudill also face charges of official misconduct.
