PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Three people were arrested at a Pikeville motel on Friday, after a housekeeper reported drug activity to police.
The employee reported seeing drugs and drug paraphernalia upon entering room 215 of the Hatfield and McCoy Lodge, as well as a half-naked, semi-conscious woman.
When police arrived and knocked on the door, they could hear movement inside, along with breaking glass and a toilet flushing, but no one would answer the door. Believing evidence was being destroyed, police forced their way into the room, where they found heroin, meth and a large amount of drug paraphernalia.
They also spotted 27-year-old Austin Slone and 36-year-old Justin Bryant near the bathroom and a white powder floating in the toilet.
Slone, Bryant and 24-year-old Rachel Kinney were arrested and charged with trafficking meth and heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Slone and Bryant were also charged with tampering with physical evidence.
All three are currently being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
