PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pikeville man who was being arrested on warrants found himself facing new charges, when police reported finding a stash of drugs in his clothing.

Pikeville Police were called to a panic alarm just after 3 a.m. Friday at a home on Carter Drive. When they arrived, they found Randy Keathley, 56, in his truck outside.

Keathley told officers he just had a security system installed and he had pressed the panic button to see if it worked. But then police discovered he was wanted on three active warrants and told him he was under arrest.

Keathley, who was wearing shorts, a t-shirt and socks with no shoes, asked if he could put some more clothes on. After he changed out of the shorts and put on pants, an officer checked the shorts and found a black case containing what police described as a large amount of fentanyl and 10 pills. The pills had markings consistent with oxycodone but police suspect they were actually pressed fentanyl pills.

In addition to the warrants, Keathley now faces two counts of first-degree drug trafficking. He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
