LOUISA, Ky. — A Lawrence County man is in jail and his wife is in the hospital, following a shooting early Friday morning.
Police were called just after midnight to a home on Rockcastle Lane over a report of a shooting.
Kelley Fletcher, 39, told police she was arguing with her husband, 43-year-old Herbert Fletcher, when he threatened to shoot her, then made good on the threat.
Police say Kelley Fletcher sustained a serious gunshot wound to her upper left torso. She was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center and was later transferred to Pikeville Medical Center.
Herbert Fletcher was arrested on a felony charge of first-degree assault. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
