PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Two Floyd County inmates are charged with assaulting the jailer and guards in separate incidents last week.

In the first incident, inmate Alexandria Cole, 30, of Salyersville, was on the basketball court, when guards noticed she had taken off her pants. After repeatedly being told to put her pants on and return to her cell, she reportedly said she would not go to her cell.

Jailer Steve Little and a deputy then attempted to handcuff her, at which time she allegedly started fighting them, causing two cuts to Little’s hand. She later allegedly kicked a deputy.

She is charged with two counts of assaulting a corrections officer and five counts of terroristic threatening.

Two days later, inmate Robert Ray Burchett, 59, was in his cell saying he would fight anyone who came in there and challenging Little to fight him. Little tried to calm Burchett down, but when he tried to leave the cell, Burchett allegedly attacked him, causing minor injuries to Little’s knees, arms and head.

Burchett is charged with one count of assaulting a corrections officer and five counts of terroristic threatening.
