Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Asks For Public Assistance To Find Alleged Shooter

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who allegedly shot another man.

According to a statement from the JCSO, at approximately 2 p.m., Monday, deputies were dispatched to a shooting at Sitka. The statement said that deputies found James Jason Mckenzie, 44, of Sitka, at the scene with a gunshot wound.

According to the statement, witnesses told deputies Joshua Caudill, of Stambaugh, was the shooter. Deputies conducted an extensive search of the area but were not able to find Caudill. 

McKenzie was treated at a local hospital, according to the statement.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of Caudill to contact the JCSO or Kentucky State Police at (606) 789-3411 or by dialing 911. Officials are warning not to approach Caudill as he is considered armed and dangerous.
