Two indicted for trafficking fentanyl in Johnson County

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A federal grand jury has indicted two men for distributing fentanyl in Johnson County.

Kevin Clay, 47, of Staffordsville, and William Hylton, 38, of Salyersville, were charged Thursday evening.

Both men are charged with conspiracy to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl, and two counts of aiding and abetting the distribution of fentanyl. Clay is additionally charged with distributing fentanyl and possession of a firearm in connection with a drug trafficking crime.



Both men could potentially face life sentences — Clay for the gun charge and Hylton for having a previous drug trafficking conviction.

Clay is currently being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Prosecutors are seeking a warrant for Hylton’s arrest.
