Keathley Drops 33 as Martin County Cruises Past Harlan 92-72

The Martin County Cardinals improved to 4–1 on the season with a 92–72 win over Harlan on Saturday.

Braxton Keathley once again led the way with an impressive double-double, finishing with 33 points and 12 rebounds.

He wasn’t alone. Two other Cardinals also recorded double-doubles. Brayden Marcum added 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Bryson Dials chipped in 15 points and 10 boards of his own. Eli Mills rounded out the scoring with 17 points.

Keathley put up video-game numbers from the floor, shooting 68.4 percent overall and 40 percent from three-point range. He also went five of six from the free-throw line.

Marcum was efficient as well, knocking down 62.5 percent of his shots and shooting 60 percent from beyond the arc.

As a team, Martin County shot 56.5 percent from the field, 48.1 percent from three-point range, and 81.8 percent at the line, while pulling down 48 rebounds on the night.

The Cardinals will now get a short break before returning to action on Friday, December 19, when they take on Logan at 6:30 p.m. at Chapmanville Regional.
