A Knott County man has been arrested more than two months after being indicted on federal drug charges.

Terry Lee Slone Jr., 40, of Hindman, was arrested earlier this month after he allegedly ran and hid from a state trooper attempting to serve him with a warrant. The officer then found him with two guns, despite a previous felony conviction.

He was charged with fleeing police and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, which could net him up to 10 years in prison, but those charges pale in comparison to the federal charges he faces.

Slone was indicted along with two other men back in November on charges of conspiracy to distribute meth, possession with the intent to distribute, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Each of the drug charges carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison, while the gun charge is punishable by up to 15 years.

One of the other men charged in the case, Raymon Risner, is scheduled to go on trial January 27th, but he has asked a judge for a delay.

There is no record that the third man, Shane Risner, has been arrested.

Slone will appear in U.S. District Court February 6th for arraignment.
