PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Knott County man has pleaded not guilty to federal drug and gun charges.
Michael Nolan Slone, 36, of Mousie, was indicted last month on charges of meth possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
In 2011, he was convicted of burglary and attempted murder for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and shooting her and her new boyfriend when they returned.
If convicted on the new charges, he could face at least five years and as much as life in prison.
In court on Monday, he pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is now scheduled to go on trial Aug. 22.
