CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Mingo County man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to a child porn charge.

Cameron Drake Newsome, 26, of Williamson, pleaded guilty to one count of producing child porn back in January.

By pleading guilty, he admitted to using his cell phone to take two photographs of a 3-year-old’s genitals. He also admitted to storing those pictures in an online account where he had stored numerous other child porn photos and videos.

Newsome’s 15-year sentence is the minimum he could have received, which both the prosecution and defense agreed would be adequate punishment. He will also be placed on supervised release for 25 years following his release. He must also pay $7,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender upon his release.

Newsome was taken into custody immediately after sentencing.
