FRANKFORT, Ky. — The open enrollment period for the state’s health care exchange has opened, and Kentucky’s governor is urging families to sign up.
The revamped health insurance portal allows Kentuckians to apply for health coverage and complete enrollment on one platform. In addition to Anthem’s statewide coverage and CareSource, consumers can shop for plans available in select counties from two new health insurers: Ambetter from WellCare of Kentucky and Passport Health Plan by Molina.

“The important thing to do is to look and plan. Talk to the kynector, talk to the agent, and have them help you shop around,” said Cabinet for Health and Family Services Secretary Eric Friedlander. “You are likely to find a plan, hopefully one that is less than what you are currently paying. This is good for Kentucky.”
Enrollments received by Dec. 15 will qualify for coverage in January 2022. For those who sign up by Jan. 15, 2022, coverage begins in February.
Kentucky residents can sign up online at kynect.ky.gov.
