PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A lawsuit filed by three employees of Big Sandy RECC alleges a pattern of ongoing sexual harassment by company president and general manager Bruce Aaron Davis.
Three women — Casey Vanhoose, Kaitlynn Cantrell and Kelly Burton — filed the lawsuit on Monday, alleging that Davis made inappropriate comments of a sexual nature to them on multiple occasions. The allegations also say he attempted to convince at least two of the women to meet him privately, and one said that the harassment extended to following her into the bathroom.
The women also claim that Davis told them and others on multiple occasions that, “[I]f they dared complain about the sexual harassment, their jobs would be in jeopardy.”
The lawsuit further alleges that Big Sandy RECC was made aware of the allegations against Davis, but that the company was “negligent and/or indifferent to the complaints.”
The women’s attorney, Ned Pillersdorf, declined to comment further on the case, saying, “The lawsuit speaks for itself.”
Mountain Top News reached out to Big Sandy RECC for comment. A man identified as the interim general manager of the company said that the company could not comment on pending litigation. That also extended to Davis’ status with the company, saying he could not comment on whether Davis is still employed with Big Sandy RECC “on the advice of counsel.”
The lawsuit seeks compensation for humiliation, pain and suffering, as well as punitive damages and attorney’s fees.
