PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Letcher County man has admitted to a federal charge of producing child pornography.
Eric Banks, 46, entered a guilty plea before a magistrate judge Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Pikeville.
In his plea agreement, he admitted to filming his co-defendant — 33-year-old Nicole Combs — engaging in criminal sexual activity with a 4-year-old boy on at least three occasions between September 2020 and April 2021.
Combs is currently undergoing a psychiatric examination at a facility in Fort Worth, Texas, and her attorney has given notice that he plans to present an insanity defense.
Banks’s plea must still be accepted by a district judge. If it is accepted, Banks will face a prison sentence of between 15 and 30 years when he is sentenced at a later date.
