SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man has been arrested on felony assault and terroristic threatening charges after he allegedly stabbed a man who tried to break up a fight between him and his wife.

Kentucky State Police responded after receiving multiple calls about an altercation at a home on Limestone Branch. The responding trooper noted seeing blood all over the house and a knife stuck in a table when he arrived.
After interviewing witnesses, police determined that Rickie Romine, 52, of Salyersville, was in a physical altercation with his wife, when a man heard the woman calling for help and tried to intervene. Romine then allegedly stabbed the man near his back.
Romine’s wife complained of sore ribs and some marks on her arm.
Romine was arrested on charges of first- and fourth-degree assault. He picked up the felony threat charge after police reported hearing him say multiple times that he would kill his wife within three hours once he is released from jail.
Romine is currently being held without bond in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
