SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man has been indicted for allegedly shooting another man in the face.
Michael Paul Perkins, 41, is accused of getting into an argument with another man on July 11, which escalated to the point that Perkins allegedly shot the other man.
The victim was taken to Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, then airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital to treatment.
On Wednesday, a Magoffin County grand jury indicted him on a charge of first-degree assault, which carries a potential prison sentence of 10 to 20 years.
Perkins is currently being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
