Man arrested after meth comes in the mail

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Acting on a tip from the post office, Prestonsburg Police arrested a man allegedly receiving meth through the mail.

After investigating a suspicious package from California that was being held by the postal inspector, police discovered 30 grams of meth inside.

Officers also learned that 60-year-old Thomas Heacox had been calling and emailing in an attempt to pick up the package.

Heacox was arrested and charged with attempted meth trafficking.
