PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man has been indicted in federal court for posting a video on social media, threatening to kill Pike County Judge-Executive Ray S. Jones II.

Ronald Ferguson Jr., 47, of Elkhorn City, has been indicted on a single count of interstate threat to injure.

According to the indictment, Ferguson posted the video to Facebook on Feb. 27. While such a threat would typically be a misdemeanor state offense, posting it on the internet made it a federal crime, punishable by up to five years in prison.

Prosecutors have requested a warrant for Ferguson’s arrest.
