BLACKEY, Ky. — One person is dead following a crash in Letcher County yesterday morning.

According to Kentucky State Police, Matthew Bailey, 22, of Blackey, was driving along Route 7 at Blackey just after 8:30 Monday morning, when he lost control in a curve. Bailey’s car overturned several times, ejecting him from the vehicle.

He was taken to Whitesburg ARH, where he died from his injuries. Toxicology results are pending, but there are no plans for an autopsy.

The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
