
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Pike County man has now been charged with vehicular homicide over a deadly crash in Floyd County that killed a Magoffin County High School student.
Keith Anderson, 44, of Pinsonfork, is also charged with first-degree assault and DUI.
The crash happened Oct. 5, 2024, on Route 114. According to police, Anderson’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck another car driven by Kenny Auxier. Both Anderson and Auxier were injured in the crash, while and passenger in Auxier’s car, 17-year-old Kayla Elam, was killed.
The indictment accuses Anderson of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
An examination of his criminal record shows Anderson has been convicted of DUI six times and alcohol intoxication five times since 1999. He also has a DUI case and a public intoxication case currently pending in Pike County.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
