The woman told police that a man she didn’t know had picked her up in Inez Tuesday morning and offered to give her a ride. After they drove around for a while, he stopped in the senior citizens center parking lot and asked her if she had heard about two women from a local drug treatment center who had been raped and killed, instantly putting the woman in fear for her life.

She said he then grabbed her head and forced her to perform a sex act on him, before coming across the seat and getting on top of her. Once he was finished, he drove away and dropped her off on Route 645.

Police reviewed security camera footage from the senior citizens center and saw the man and his truck. They later identified him as Steven Casdorph, 45, of Inez.

The sheriff’s office located the man and vehicle that afternoon. When they interviewed him, he admitted to picking up the woman and taking her to the senior citizens center.

He was arrested on a charge of first-degree rape, a felony punishable by 10-to-20 years in prison.
