SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — Six days after getting arrested for DUI and driving without a license in Pikeville, a Michigan man ended up back in jail, this time after police found him transporting more than 5 lbs. of marijuana.
Joseph Michael McIntyre, 38, of Harper Woods, Mich., was driving along the Mountain Parkway in Magoffin County Tuesday night, when he encountered a roadblock at mile marker 70.
When a state trooper came to the window, he could immediately detect the odor of marijuana, and McIntyre reportedly admitted there was a small amount in the center console. The officer found that small amount, but then found several large plastic bags of the drug in the trunk of the car.
McIntyre was arrested and charged with trafficking in more than 5 lbs. of marijuana and driving without a license. He is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
Back on July 20, McIntyre was arrested after being pulled over for speeding on U.S. 23 in Pikeville. He was ultimately taken to jail on charges of DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and several traffic violations.
