PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Letcher County man now faces up to 40 years in prison, after pleading guilty to federal drug charges.
Roger Lee Miles, 52, of Thornton, previously sought to enter a guilty plea to a charge of possessing more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute it. On Tuesday, a judge accepted that plea.
Miles admitted to authorities that he had developed a source for meth in Louisville, and he had previously obtained a pound of the drug and had planned to distribute a portion of it.
Miles now faces a potential sentence of between 5 and 40 years, but will receive credit for accepting responsibility for his actions by pleading guilty.
He will be sentenced August 18.
