CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Mingo County man has pleaded guilty to a federal child porn charge.

Terry Randall Hinkle, 55, of Delbarton, entered a guilty plea Wednesday to a single count of possessing child pornography.

In a stipulation of facts filed with his plea, Hinkle admitted to receiving multiple images of prepubescent girls through Facebook in August of 2023. He also admitted to sending an image depicting a nude 12-year-old girl through Facebook to another user the following month.

In all, Hinkle admitted to having 24 videos and 46 images depicting child porn in his possession.

In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors have agreed to drop three other charges of receiving child porn, distributing child porn and sexual exploitation of children.

Hinkle now faces a prison sentence of between 5 and 20 years. He will be back in court for final sentencing Feb. 5.

The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security.
