Body found in Pike County may be missing woman

Chadwick Hunt

LICK CREEK, Ky. — An arrest in Pike County reveals that the search for a missing woman and the discovery of a body at Lick Creek may be connected.

Chadwick Hunt, 44, of Lick Creek, was arrested Tuesday on charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence, after a woman’s body was found near his home on Sunday.

Clara Morgan O’Brien

According to police, Hunt told officers that a woman named “Morgan” had died Dec. 19 and he had moved her body to the location where it was found.

Police are not commenting at this time, but court records indicate they believe “Morgan” is Clara Morgan O’Brien, 39, of Fedscreek, who was last known to have contacted her boyfriend Dec. 18.

The body was sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for autopsy and positive identification.

Valorie Hunt

In a strange coincidence, Hunt is also married to another woman who was reported missing this year, Valorie Hunt, although the two are estranged.

Valorie Hunt went missing back in July, after last contacting family from a Lick Creek residence. Family members tell Mountain Top News that she was at her estranged husband’s home around the time she went missing.

At this time, there is no indication Chadwick Hunt had any involvement in his wife’s disappearance.

Chadwick Hunt is currently being held on a $25,000 full-cash bond.

No hearings have yet been set in the case.
