SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — Three Pike County residents were arrested on drug trafficking charges, after police found a large amount of meth in their car during a roadblock in Magoffin County.

Police had set up a checkpoint at mile marker 70 on the Mountain Parkway, when a car driven by Nicholas Coleman, 53, of Elkhorn City, came through.

Police spotted a loaded syringe in the passenger floorboard and asked to search the car. Under the driver’s seat, they found a half-ounce of heroin and fentanyl, and in the trunk they found a pound of meth.

Coleman and his two passengers, identified as Tiffany Roberts, 26, of Pikeville, and Harley Tubbs, 23, of Sidney, all denied knowledge of the drugs, so all three were arrested on trafficking charges. All three were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
