LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Officials have identified the two Louisville Metro Police officers who were shot during protests Wednesday, as well as the man accused of being the shooter.
Major Aubrey Gregory was shot in the hip. He was treated at a hospital and released.
Officer Robinson Desroches sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He underwent surgery and is said to be in stable condition.
Both officers are expected to recover.
Larynzo D. Johnson, 26, of Louisville is accused of firing the shots that wounded the officers. He is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, as well as 14 counts of wanton endangerment, all against police officers.
LMPD Chief Robert Schroeder said two other officers sustained leg injuries in unrelated incidents, and one was exposed to blood and spit.
Chief Schroeder added that 127 arrests were made during the protests.
