PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man facing federal child porn charges has been found competent to stand trial.

Bill Daniel Combs, 39, of Pikeville, is charged with production and possession of child porn.

He was negotiating a plea agreement earlier this year, when his attorney noticed he didn’t seem to comprehend the charges against him. However, a psychological exam determined he is competent.

He is due back in court for a hearing Oct. 12, when a new trial date will be determined.
