PIKEVILLE, Ky. — An Ohio man who was arrested after police found more than 2 lbs. of meth in a car in which he was a passenger has indicated he is ready to enter a guilty plea.

Anttwan Dewayne Freeman, 24, of Akron, Ohio, was arrested in March of 2024 following a traffic stop in Paintsville. During the stop, police found two bags containing about a kilogram of meth hidden under the gear shift.

He was later indicted in federal court on a charge of possession of more than 500 grams of meth with the intent to distribute. That charge carries a potential sentence of anywhere between 10 years and life in prison.

On Monday, his attorney filed a motion asking that he be allowed to change his plea, saying he has reached an agreement with prosecutors. The motion does not provide details about the terms of that agreement.

The judge will determine whether or not to grant the request.
