“Paint the Plow” project underway in Highway District 12

BETSY LAYNE, Ky. –  Snowplows in eastern Kentucky may look a little different this winter, thanks to art students at eight area high schools.
This year, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Highway District 12 is participating in a project called, “Paint the Plow,” where schools are offered the chance to paint the blade of a snow plow. And,  the first completed one was picked up on Friday at Betsy Layne High School.  Highway District 12 Chief District Engineer, Mary Westfall-Holbrook says eight schools in their seven county district took them up on the offer.  In the next few weeks, the other seven will be completed and ready to go just in time for the first big snow.
