Pike grand jury to determine whether charges will be filed for fatal weekend shooting

BELFRY, Ky. – A Pike County man is dead following a shooting Saturday at Belfry.

Greely Hurley, 30, of Stopover, was pronounced dead at Tug Valley ARH on Saturday. According to Kentucky State Police, Hurley was shot while in a physical altercation with Paul Coleman, 57, of Meta, in a business parking lot on Route 319.

No arrests were made immediately following the shooting. Findings of the investigation will be presented to a Pike County grand jury to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.

KSP Det. Mahala Lewis is leading the investigation. She was assisted on scene by KSP personnel and Appalachian First Response Ambulance Service.
