PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man faces a long list of charges, after allegedly leading police on a chase Sunday afternoon.

State troopers reported witnessing Gregory Cornette, 48, of Pikeville, run a stop sign while pulling onto Route 194 from Sycamore Road. They say he then stopped his car in the middle of the road, threw a can out the window, and went on. They say they attempted to pull him over, but he continued for several miles, tossing items out of his window while driving on the wrong side of the road.

The vehicle pursuit ended on a mine road, but police say Cornette then jumped out of his car and ran away. He was found a short time later, hiding in some bushes.

He is now charged with fleeing police, DUI, and a long list of traffic violations.
