PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man is facing a felony theft charge, after police found him with $3,000 worth of telecommunications cable in his truck.
Kentucky State Police responded early Saturday morning after AT&T reported cable theft at Sookey’s Creek. They found Joshua McCoy, 34, of Pikeville, with the cable in the back of his truck.
McCoy told police he found the cable lying on the ground, but AT&T said it had video of the theft.
He was arrested and charged with theft between $1,000 and $10,000. The charge is punishable by up to five years in prison.
