HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Martin County man has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison for his part in a drug distribution network in Huntington.

Kody Harless, 28, of Tomahawk, pleaded guilty back in November to possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
With his plea, he admitted to obtaining nearly 5 grams of fentanyl from a source in Huntington, and that he intended to sell some of it. The drugs were later found by police during a traffic after the transaction.
Harless also admitted to other criminal conduct beyond what he was charged with. He told authorities he was part of a criminal conspiracy to distribute meth and fentanyl from July to November of 2023, adding he would obtain drugs in Huntington and distribute them back in Kentucky.
In Huntington federal court on Tuesday, he was sentenced to 106 months in prison.
Harless was one of 27 people indicted in connection with the investigation into the Huntington drug trafficking organization. To date, 23 of the defendants have entered guilty pleas.
