PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man has been arrested and charged with stealing thousands of dollars worth of items while working as a painter.
According to police, Donnie McClanahan, 34, of Pikeville, had been hired to do some painting Tuesday for a local doctor. While performing that work, he is alleged to have taken items worth more than $25,000.
McClanahan is now charged with theft, and picked up additional charges of fleeing police, resisting arrest and wanton endangerment after he allegedly led officers on a foot chase during his arrest on Thursday.
He is being held in the Pike County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond.
