PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A former Letcher County teacher has been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison on federal child porn and cyberstalking charges.

A jury found Charles Evans Hall Jr., 49, of Jackhorn, guilty of producing child pornography and cyberstalking back in October.

Evidence presented at trial showed that Hall groomed a female student to send him pornographic Snapchat messages. The victim also testified that Hall engaged in criminal sexual acts with her while he worked a food booth at the 2018 Mountain Heritage Festival.

He was also found guilty of trying to intimidate the girl into destroying evidence and using other people to try to get her to recant.

On Tuesday, the judge sentenced Hall to 370 months in prison.
