ELKHORN CITY, Ky. — A Pike County man faces a felony charge for allegedly pistol-whipping another man.
Elkhorn City Police were called to a report of an assault just before midnight on Friday. When they arrived, they found the victim bleeding from his head in at least two places.
The man told police that he was walking down Big Branch Road when Kevin Stiltner, 43, began yelling at him and then struck him in the head three or four times with the gun while threatening to kill him.
When police interviewed Stiltner, he reportedly confessed to pistol-whipping the man, but said he couldn’t recall how many times. Police seized the weapon, which reportedly still had hair stuck to it from the attack.
Stiltner was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, which is a felony punishable by 5-to-10 years in prison.
