PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man faces a number of charges after being accused of assaulting several children.

Pikeville Police were called to an apartment on College Street over a report of a domestic violence incident between a man and child. When they arrived, they were met outside by five children and a woman carrying a baby.
The woman told police Deshaun Lemar Gwyn, 34, shoved her out of the way while she was holding the baby in order to attack their sons.
One boy was holding a large clump of hair which he said his father pulled out. Another boy complained of a possible broken hand sustained when trying to pull his father off of the other child. A nephew also showed police a busted lip which he said he sustained while trying to break up the fight.
The woman told police Gwyn ran upstairs when he saw police coming. But when they went inside the apartment, she yelled to tell them he had jumped out of a window and was running away. He was arrested minutes later.
Gwyn now faces a felony charge of fleeing police, as well as misdemeanor charges of assault, endangering the welfare of a minor and menacing.
