PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man convicted of sexual abuse 13 years ago has now been convicted of sodomy.

Joshua Hubbard, 39, of Pinsonfork, had been accused of having improper sexual contact with a 16-year-old back in 2018. He went on trial Monday. On Tuesday, the jury reached a verdict — guilty of sodomy and persistent felony offender.
The jury also recommended a 10-year sentence in the case. The judge will decide whether to accept that suggestion or modify it during formal sentencing next month.
Hubbard had been free on a $10,000 bond following his indictment in the current case. He was taken into custody following his conviction on Tuesday, and he is currently being held without bond in the Pike County Detention Center.
Back in 2008, he reached a plea deal in another sodomy case. In 2009, the charges were dropped in exchange for him pleading guilty to one count of sexual abuse. He was sentenced to five years in that case.
