PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County woman could spend the rest of her life in prison, after being indicted on charges of child sex trafficking, transporting a minor across state lines for criminal sexual conduct, and producing and distributing child pornography.
Kena Reed, 27, of Pinsonfork, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday. Both the trafficking and transporting charges carry potential life sentences.
The alleged plot was uncovered by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office back in September. Deputies investigating the theft of more than 5,000 pills from the South Williamson Food City uncovered evidence that Reed was allegedly trading sexually explicit photos and videos of herself and the minor for drugs.
At that time, Reed and 31-year-old Jacob West were charged with human trafficking and other crimes.
