PHELPS, Ky. — A Pike County woman is dead, following an early-morning fire on Wednesday.

Just after midnight, Kentucky State Police received a report of a house fire on Fifth Street, at Phelps. First responders discovered the body of 65-year-old Teresa Fields inside the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
